What measures would you take to make New Mexico state government transparent, accessible and accountable to the public? I will continue to fight for an ethics commission, as well as full disclosure of all lobbying spending in the state of New Mexico
Would you give permission to the Legislative Council Service to make publicly available the final amounts you personally allocate to various capital outlay projects? Yes, and I have done this.
If you think reform of the capital outlay system is needed, how would you reform it? If you don't think reform is needed, give us your reasons. I believe our citizens and capital outlay system would benefit from greater oversight and prioritization of key community projects.
Does New Mexico need to invest more in early childhood development? If you think it does, in your opinion what is the best way to invest? If you don't think New Mexico needs to invest more, tell us why. I believe we must invest additional resources in early childhood development. This can be done through our established network of providers and schools.
What measures would you take to improve the state's long-term economy? To improve our economy we need to focus on developing healthy educated kids, opportunities for technical training and higher education, college graduate retention, and economic development strategies that maximize New Mexico's strengths.
Would you support the legalization of cannabis for adult recreational use in New Mexico? Why or why not? We should review the results of the states that have legalized marijuana to consider appropriate policies for New Mexico.
