Would you vote for the creation of an Independent Ethics Commission to provide oversight of the executive and legislative branches of government in New Mexico? Yes. I don't agree with legislators policing themselves therefore I do support an independent ethics commission to provide transparency and fairness to the legislative and executive branches.

What measures would you take to make New Mexico state government transparent, accessible and accountable to the public? I think we have the technology to make the state transparent, accessible and accountable to the public. It makes the government accountable to the proposed ethics commission.

Would you give permission to the Legislative Council Service to make publicly available the final amounts you personally allocate to various capital outlay projects? Yes. In the spirit of transparency, I believe it is important for the public to know funding allocations to various capital outlay projects throughout the state districts.

If you think reform of the capital outlay system is needed, how would you reform it? If you don't think reform is needed, give us your reasons. I think reform is needed and I would support a system of prioritization for capital outlay projects to ensure that our highest needs are met. I would also support a policy that unused capital outlay monies return to the general fund.

Does New Mexico need to invest more in early childhood development? If you think it does, in your opinion what is the best way to invest? If you don't think New Mexico needs to invest more, tell us why. Early childhood education has been proven to strengthen student academic success which in turn, provides more opportunities for New Mexicans and strengthens our economy. The best way to invest in early childhood education is to support a constitutional amendment that increases distribution from the Land Grand Permanent Fund specifically for Early Childhood Education.

What measures would you take to improve the state's long-term economy? We need to diversify New Mexico's economy through renewable energy, increase our investment in education that strengths and retools our workforce, additionally we must support an economic environment that incubates and grows small businesses and encourages entrepreneurship.

Would you support the legalization of cannabis for adult recreational use in New Mexico? Why or why not? I acknowledge those who have made arguments of the economic benefits of legalization while I encourage the debate and arguments on legalization, I believe this is an issue that requires further discussion and study as to the pros and cons.
