What measures would you take to make New Mexico state government transparent, accessible and accountable to the public? As much transparency as possible is always helpful. Webcasting assists with this but opportunities still available to further expand on public participation
Would you give permission to the Legislative Council Service to make publicly available the final amounts you personally allocate to various capital outlay projects? Yes, I already have.
If you think reform of the capital outlay system is needed, how would you reform it? If you don't think reform is needed, give us your reasons. Reform is needed to have well thought out projects get funding necessary. We also must take into account funding projects that may leverage other dollars!
Does New Mexico need to invest more in early childhood development? If you think it does, in your opinion what is the best way to invest? If you don't think New Mexico needs to invest more, tell us why. Early investment is absolutely needed. Research show we are needing more intervention and opportunities for success at much younger years, yet funding does not adequately reflect this.
What measures would you take to improve the state's long-term economy? We need to invest in NM people. For far to long we have relied on a tax system that benefits the wealthy at the expense of everyday NM people. By investing in the inside out approach, we grow.
Would you support the legalization of cannabis for adult recreational use in New Mexico? Why or why not? Yes, the time has come to focus on programs that work rather than on prosecution that yields little return.
