Message type: mailer
Message tone: negative
About the message: This mailer from GOP House Majority Leader Nate Gentry accuses his Democratic opponent, Natalie Figueroa, of wanting issue drivers licenses to "terrorists, criminals or illegal immigrants," using celebrity names with photos of people who are not the celebrities. The mailer says that's "the practical reality of politician Natalie Figueroa's reckless policies." This appears to be the first time Figueroa has run for public office. In order to issue licenses to such people, a majority of the Legislature and GOP Gov. Susana Martinez also would have to agree with the policy.
The messenger's money: On Sept. 1, Gentry paid Triumph Campaigns in Missouri nearly $64,000 for direct mail.
